If any of you followed me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I no longer have an account.
I did not make an announcement, it was not a spur of the moment thing, I had been thinking about it for awhile and when I finally attended my assembly in mid October, I felt it was time to let go.
After our assembly ended, seconds after the prayer ended as a matter of fact I permanently deleted my account and the app.
While social media can be fun, it is very time consuming, some of the people take it way too serious, there is so much competition and negativity, and it can really be toxic and unhealthy for you spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and even financially.
I feel that many people on Instagram live a lifestyle that they cannot afford or they desire so much of what they do not have.
There were also many, “spiritual” people on there who post questionable things.
I felt I had been too dependent on my phone or camera and instead of watching things take place in that moment, I was watching them through the screen.
I decided I needed a cleanse.
It has been about a month and while I miss certain feeds on Instagram, I do not regret the decision I made.
I’ve decided with time I may make another account but that it would not be a personal account. It would strictly be based around my blog and feature recipes, DIY’s, thrift tips, and my travels.
I currently have a Snapchat which I don’t use too often so I may delete that account as well.
